This policy explains what myreceiptgenerator.com collects, what it does not collect, and what happens to the information you type into the receipt and invoice generator. It is written to be read, not to protect us from you.
The short version
If you use the generator without an account, your data never reaches our servers. Everything stays in your browser and becomes a PDF or image on your own device.
If you create an account and choose to save a receipt, that receipt is stored on our servers so you can reopen it later. You control it, you can delete it whenever you like, and deleting your account removes every saved receipt permanently.
Receipt and invoice data
When you use the generator, you enter things like a business name, a customer name, line items, prices, and tax details. What happens to that data depends entirely on whether you save it.
Without an account, or signed in but not saving
- Processed entirely by JavaScript in your browser
- Not transmitted to our servers
- Not stored, logged, backed up, or retained
- Cleared when you close or refresh the page
If you sign in and click Save
- The contents are sent over HTTPS and stored in our database
- Stored against your account only, and visible to no other user
- Retained until you delete the document or your account
- Never sold, shared, or used for advertising
Saving is always a deliberate action. Nothing is stored simply because you typed it.
Logo uploads are never transmitted in either case. Your browser reads the image locally to display it on the preview.
Account information
Creating an account stores your name, email address, an encrypted password hash, your registration date, and the date you accepted this policy. Passwords are hashed by WordPress and are not readable by us or recoverable in plain text.
We use your email only to operate your account, including password resets and essential service notices. We will not add you to a marketing list without asking you separately.
What you are responsible for
If you save documents containing your customers’ names, addresses, or payment details, that information belongs to those people. You are the controller of that data and we process it on your behalf.
Please save only what you genuinely need, and make sure you have a lawful basis for holding it under the rules that apply in your country.
Information we receive automatically
Server logs
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is requested: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the page requested, referring page, and a timestamp. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting, are not linked to any identity, and are kept only as long as our host retains them.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics and Google Search Console to understand which pages people find useful and which search terms bring them here. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects a truncated IP address, device type, approximate location at city level, and pages viewed. We use it in aggregate only and do not attempt to identify individual visitors.
Analytics never has access to the contents of your receipts or invoices.
You can block this entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or any standard content blocker. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.
If you email us, we receive your address and whatever you write. We use it to reply and nothing else.
Third-party services
| Service | What it does | What it can see |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare CDN (cdnjs) | Delivers the PDF and image libraries the generator needs to build your download | Your IP address and browser, as with any file request. It does not receive your document contents. |
| Google Analytics | Aggregate visitor statistics | Truncated IP, device, pages viewed |
| Google Search Console | Search performance data | Aggregated search queries only, never individual users |
We name the CDN because it is a genuine third-party connection your browser makes, even though it only serves code files. Most sites do not mention it. We would rather you had the complete picture.
Cookies
This site sets a login cookie if you sign in, so you stay signed in between pages. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to distinguish one visit from another. WordPress may set a cookie if you leave a comment, purely to remember your details in the form.
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. The generator works fully with cookies disabled, though you will not be able to stay signed in.
Retention
- Saved documents: kept until you delete them
- Account records: kept until you delete your account
- Server logs: as long as our host retains them
- Email threads: kept while relevant, then deleted
Account deletion is immediate, permanent, removes every saved document, and cannot be reversed. You can do it yourself from your account page without contacting us.
Payments
The generator is free to use. If we introduce paid plans, payment will be handled by a third-party processor and we will never see or store your card details. This policy will be updated before any paid plan launches.
Children
This site is intended for business and personal record-keeping and is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 to create an account, or older if your country sets a higher age for digital consent.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, and comparable laws you have the following rights, and here is how to use each one:
- Access and portability: email us and we will send everything held against your account
- Deletion: use the delete button on your account page for immediate permanent erasure, or email us and we will action it within 30 days
- Correction: update your name or email from your account page, or email us
- Objection: email us and we will stop the processing you object to, or explain why we cannot

Data location
This site is operated from Pakistan. Server logs, account data, and analytics may be processed on servers in other countries, including the United States, depending on our hosting and analytics providers.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and passwords are hashed, never stored in readable form. Account data is protected by WordPress’s authentication system, and saved documents are only ever returned to the account that created them.
No system is perfectly secure. Download and keep your own copies of anything that matters, and do not rely on saved documents as your only record.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on the page or emailed to account holders rather than made quietly.
